Adolescent life skill empowerment project (ALPEP)
Crowded houses, striking poverty, absence of civic facilities, high dropout rate, volatile behavior of young adolescent children, crime, and delinquent behavior, and lack of proper health facilities are some of the major concerns in this area.
Adolescents from Vyasarpadi are constantly exposed to antisocial behavior and influences, rendering them particularly vulnerable to delinquency. ALPEP aims at protect adolescents in the age group of 12– 19 from antisocial activities, make them aware of moral issues, and improve their life standard through life skill education and psychological development.
BSAC provides them proper awareness and counseling to help them cope with this special time of life.
Adolescents both boys and girls separately meet in four groups once a month to focus on specific issues such as self confidence, suicide, early marriage, bodily change, positive thinking, relationship with family, friends, and goal setting. Workshops are conducted once every three months on related topics.
The methodology used is role-play, group discussion, interactive games, lectures, and case history. Adolescents are invited for everyday activities in Resource Center and Central Library and skill development activities designed.

About Battle of the Buffet
Battle of The Buffet (BoB) is an annual fundraising event organized by Chennai Mission, Manava Seva Dharma Samvardhini Trust, and Aram Porul to support NGOs based out of Tamil Nadu. Earlier, BoB was celebrated as part of ‘Daan Utsav’, a Festival of Giving. Due to COVID, this year BoB is celebrated in the month of Dec 2020.
This year close to 50 NGOs from Tamil Nadu working for various causes including COVID relief, education, health, livelihood, differently-abled are participating. Participating charities raise funds using this, while the donor gets exclusive access to entertainment and food from leading hotels, delivered at home.
Since its inception in 2009, this mega fundraising event has raised close to Rs. 30 crores, benefitting hundreds of projects and causes of NGOs.
